We Urgently Need Your Help
Ancient Egypt is rich with history and resources. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and his sons traveled to Egypt to survive the famine. Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt to escape the death threat on the life of Jesus. Today, the cry from the land of the Great Pyramids is “help” for the “garbage collectors” (Zableen) living in the Garbage City on the outskirts of Cairo. God looks on the people of Egypt saying, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry...and I am come down to deliver them” (Exodus 3:7-8). God’s call to Moses to be His messenger of deliverance is as great today as it was in ancient times.
In response to God’s call, “Whom shall I send?” “Who will go?” I personally invite you to join with Operation Serve® in Cairo. Join an Operation Serve® team and touch a life that Christ died to save. You will become God’s hands to clean and bandage an infected wound, wash and cut a small boy's or girl's hair, teach proper dental care, or just give a warm hug to a fearful little girl or boy. Hope and healing is hand delivered to literally thousands of lives.
Please prayerfully consider what God would have you do for the “Garbage Collectors” of Cairo. Nine days is so little to give with an eternity in sight.
Travel Guide
You will fly round trip from your departure city to Cairo, Egypt, to be God’s Ambassador to the poor and needy. Your team will partner with Operation Serve® Egypt, providing medical assistance, dental services, personal ministry, hygiene care, and hair care. There will also be children’s ministry consisting of clowning, face painting, arts, and crafts. You will join the Egyptian national believers in worshipping the Lord, as His love is expressed in Word and Deed.
Cost: $1850
Airfare included. Price quote may vary due to airfare cost.
General Itinerary
Days 1-2: Travel Days, Team Orientation
Day 3: Visit the Pyramids and Sphinx
Days 4-8: Ministry Days in the Garbage City
Day 9: Travel Home
Application Process
- Complete and mail your application along with your application fee (application downloads are available on this website or you may have an application mailed to you)
- Application fee is $25
- Have your Pastor complete your Pastoral Recommendation
- If you are traveling as a member of a Church team please attend any scheduled team meetings
- If you are traveling as an individual please review the Team Member Suide and communicate with our home office
- Apply for a passport ASAP allowing 6 to 8 weeks for processing
- Send in the first deposit of $1,350 at least 60 days before you travel
- Mail in the balance due of $500 at least 30 days before you travel
Important: Airfare to and from your original departure city is included in the cost of your trip. Airfare is non-refundable. Flight insurance is available.
